Chapter 1: First Acres

Level milestone: Ranch Level 10

This chapter contains 10 sequential Journey objectives. Complete each objective before moving to the next.

1. Meet Your Ranch Hand

Your Ranch Hand is the control center for Rooster Ranch. Speak to them so you know where every major system lives.

Requirement: 1 Ranch Hand interaction

Reward: 25 Ranch XP + 20 RC

How to complete: Walk up to your Ranch Hand and interact with them.

2. Open Your Ranch Journal

The Ranch Journal tracks your objective, progress, rewards and how-to help. Open it from the Ranch Hand menu.

Requirement: 1 Journal open

Reward: 25 Ranch XP + 20 RC

How to complete: Talk to the Ranch Hand, open the Ranch Journal from the menu, then use/interact with the Journal.

3. Choose Your Profession

A profession makes your Ranch better at a particular part of the economy. You can still use every normal Ranch system.

Requirement: 1 profession choice

Reward: 50 Ranch XP + 35 RC

How to complete: Talk to the Ranch Hand, open Professions, and choose the specialization you want to build around. Your choice is long-term.

4. Plant the First Seeds

Start a small working crop row. Early farming teaches the production loop without asking you to build anything complicated.

Requirement: 4 plantings

Reward: 35 Ranch XP + 30 RC

How to complete: Plant crops, specialty plants, flowers, or saplings inside your Ranch claim.

5. Your First Harvest

Harvest mature crops so the Ranch begins producing goods you can use or sell.

Requirement: 4 harvests

Reward: 40 Ranch XP + 35 RC

How to complete: Harvest fully-grown crops on your Ranch.

6. First Livestock

Add one Ranch animal. Livestock unlocks welfare, production, quality and later breeding systems.

Requirement: 1 livestock purchases/additions

Reward: 50 Ranch XP + 40 RC

How to complete: Use the Ranch Hand livestock menu or the matching Market vendor to add livestock.

7. Daily Ranch Care

Keep your livestock healthy by feeding or cleaning the Ranch at least once.

Requirement: 1 care actions

Reward: 35 Ranch XP + 30 RC

How to complete: Feed or clean the Ranch. Either care action counts.

8. Clean Up the Homestead

Clear natural weeds from the Ranch. Weeds are part of the daily maintenance loop and can occasionally be special growths.

Requirement: 3 weeds cleared

Reward: 45 Ranch XP + 40 RC

How to complete: Clear naturally-spawned Ranch weeds and special seasonal growths.

9. Visit the Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is the shared economy hub. Travel there through your Ranch Hand and explore before worrying about selling anything.

Requirement: 1 Market visit

Reward: 50 Ranch XP + 40 RC

How to complete: Talk to the Ranch Hand and select Farmers Market.

10. Reach Ranch Level 10

You now know the basic loop. Build XP and RoostCoin through objectives, care, farming and sales, then grow your Ranch to level 10.

Requirement: 10 Ranch level

Reward: 250 Ranch XP + 250 RC

How to complete: Earn Ranch XP and RoostCoin, then use Ranch Hand → Ranch Upgrade when you meet the next level requirement.

This objective checks your actual Ranch level. Reach Level 10; accumulated Journey event progress does not substitute for the Ranch level.
